A stock leaf-spring truck is not the mounting plan for this bar. QA1 52899 is a 1-1/4-inch tubular rear sway bar for the listed GM two-wheel-drive trucks already using the specified QA1 rear suspension system.

Fitment

  • 1973-1986 Chevrolet C10 and GMC C15, plus 1987 Chevrolet R10 and GMC R15 as named in the manufacturer fitment table, 2WD only.
  • Works exclusively with the corresponding QA1 rear suspension system. The current installation guide excludes leaf-spring suspensions; it also uses GMC C1500/R1500 model names.

Included

  • Rear sway bar, polyurethane bushings, rear end links and mounting hardware. A front sway bar is not included.

Before ordering and installation

  • Confirm the QA1 rear system and frame/axle bracket locations before ordering. Keep wiring, brake lines and fuel lines below the frame brackets as directed; trapping a brake line behind a bracket is an expensive shortcut.
  • The supplier record says the bushings are not pre-greased. Grease and install them as instructed, then set the end links with the suspension loaded so the sway-bar arms sit level.
  • Use the current guide’s mounting diagram and torque chart. QA1’s manual states that installed products are not eligible for return and gives a one-year limited material/workmanship warranty to the original purchaser, subject to its terms.
