First-gen F-body coupe flexing in the middle?
These bolt-in connectors tie the front subframe to the rear spring pockets. They replace the original front leaf-spring pockets and reuse the rear subframe bushing attachment. Coupe only. The convertible needs something different.
Fitment
1967-1969 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird coupes only. Does not fit convertibles.
Manufacturer-listed models: 1967-1969 Chevrolet Camaro; 1967-1969 Pontiac Firebird.
Specifications
Part 11167300; 1.5 x 3-inch steel tube with 0.125-inch wall; satin-black powder coat.
Connectors use the existing rear floor-pan locations and bolt through the original front subframe.
Included
Driver/passenger connector pair, four 5/8-to-1/2-inch T-bushings, U-nuts and mounting hardware.
Before ordering and installation
Retain the OE leaf-spring and rear body-bushing hardware specified in the manual. Confirm whether the spring bolts are 1/2 or 5/8 inch; use the supplied T-bushings for 1/2-inch hardware.
The front mounts require four 5/16-inch drilled holes per side. With rubber body bushings, support the connector tight against the subframe before drilling.
Keep rubber leaf-spring bushings near their loaded position when tightening to avoid preload. Reattach the spring clamps and recheck all fasteners.
