The 175-lb/in rear springs are specific to this X-body four-link package. Match the Ridetech mounts first, then set ride height with the car at operating weight. A spring adjuster can move a seat; it cannot correct the wrong suspension mount.
Fitment
- Manufacturer-listed 1968 Chevy II, 1969-1974 Nova and the Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac model/year rows below.
- Requires the matching Ridetech Bolt-On 4-Link, sold separately; stock leaf-spring mounting is not covered.
- Manufacturer-listed models: 1973-1974 Buick Apollo; 1968 Chevrolet Chevy II; 1969-1974 Chevrolet Nova; 1973-1974 Oldsmobile Omega; 1968-1971 Pontiac Acadian; 1971-1974 Pontiac Ventura.
Specifications
- Part 11266510; two rear HQ single-adjustable shocks with 5.2-inch stroke and two 12-inch, 175-lb/in springs.
- Manual center-to-center lengths: 11.23 inches compressed, 14.50 inches at design ride height, and 16.43 inches extended.
Included
- HQ shock pair, coil springs, Delrin spring washers, upper spring plates and retainers, lower spring adjusters and locks, and upper bearing-half spacers.
Before ordering and installation
- Use the correct Ridetech 4-Link mounting hardware and supplied spacer arrangement. Inventory the separate link kit before installation.
- Follow the exact manual's initial spring-seat setting. With full vehicle weight on the suspension, jounce and roll the car before judging ride height.
- Do not lower the seat until the spring loses retention at full extension. Check full-travel tire, spring, axle and exhaust clearance.
- Begin rebound adjustment at the part manual's 12-click baseline and tune the finished vehicle. No fixed lowering amount is promised.
