These front ShockWaves work with the original control arms, but the spring pocket still needs attention. The reinforcement plates and bellows clearance are part of the job, not optional details hidden behind the wheel.
 
Fitment
1960-1964 full-size Ford Galaxie front suspension with OEM control arms. The manufacturer vehicle table also lists the Ford and Mercury models in the application rows.
This is the front ShockWave pair; it requires a separate air compressor and control system. It is not a complete four-corner air-suspension package.

Part 12162401; two HQ rebound-adjustable ShockWaves with 1000-series 6.5-inch bellows and 2.9-inch shock stroke.
Manual dimensions: 9.60 inches compressed, 11.00 inches at ride height and 11.90 inches extended, mount to mount.
The current manufacturer product page specifies 1/8-inch NPT air ports and says fittings are not included.
 
Included
Front ShockWave pair, stud-top/Delrin-ball mounting assemblies, trunnions, control-arm reinforcement plates and the listed mounting bolts, washers and nuts.
 
Before ordering and installation
Open the upper shock-mount hole to 3/4 inch and trim the coil-spring locating flange flush as instructed. Remove the original lower shock-retaining nuts for the new trunnion arrangement.
Install the supplied reinforcement plate between the lower control arm and trunnion. Check the bellows, fitting and airline for clearance through full suspension travel.
Provide the compressor, control system, airline and compatible 1/8-inch NPT port fittings. Fittings are separate under the current manufacturer specification.
Follow the specified ride-height and rebound setup. Do not drive deflated on the internal bump stop, overinflate to full extension, or allow the bellows to rub.
