Measure the axle before choosing the caliper color. Wilwood 140-10094-DR is the red-caliper, drilled-and-slotted rear kit for the Large Chevy C10 housing flange with a 2.42-inch axle offset. The C10/C15 name on the truck is a starting point; the flange, studs and offset are what put the rotor in the right place.
What is in the box
- Two red powder-coated four-piston Forged Dynalite calipers, 12.19 x .81-inch iron SRP drilled-and-slotted rotor/hat assemblies with black electro-coat, and a BP-10 pad set.
- Left/right parking-brake bracket assemblies, internal parking-brake shoes, caliper bolts, washers, shims and pad-retaining hardware.
- Hydraulic lines and fittings, parking-brake cables, clevises, cable adapters and cable hardware are separate. Retain the appropriate OE axle-flange mounting bolts and nuts.
Match it to the build
Five-lug only. Use the listed Chevrolet C10/C10 Pickup or GMC C15/C1500 Pickup configuration only after confirming the rear housing flange, 2.42-inch offset, stud size and wheel pattern. Other bodies and axle conversions need separate rear-axle confirmation. The installation cover identifies 1971-87 C10 and 1971-82 five-lug Blazer; its flange chart also shows the 1963-87 five-lug C10 pattern. That does not turn a six-lug or swapped axle into this application.
Before installation
- Measure the 2.42-inch offset from the wheel-side axle flange face to the wheel-side housing flange face. Match the rotor’s 5 x 5.00-inch bolt circle, housing bolt pattern, bearing size, 3.11-inch center register and maximum 6.61-inch axle-flange diameter with the specified .050 x 45-degree chamfer.
- The rotor holes are sized for 1/2-inch studs. A 7/16-inch OE stud does not correctly locate this assembly; a stud upgrade or qualified machine work may be needed. Larger studs also require the prescribed qualified machining.
- Some 15-inch wheels clear this kit. Check DS-583 and maintain at least .080 inch between wheel and caliper everywhere; the diameter printed on the tire is not a clearance measurement.
- Plan the separate brake hoses for full suspension travel; Wilwood lists 220-7056, 220-7699 and 220-8307 by length, with final routing and fitting suitability left to the installer. Route parking-brake cables without tight bends, restrain their sheaths, pre-stretch them and adjust shoe/cable tension as instructed.
- Center each rotor in its caliper and verify full clinch-nut engagement after shimming. Have an experienced brake installer bleed, bed and test the complete system before driving.
