Want 14-inch rotors with red calipers?
Wilwood 140-9804-DR has six-piston Superlite 6R calipers and 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors. Start with the spindle on the car, then check the clearance drawing inside your wheel. An 18-inch diameter doesn't tell you where the spokes sit.
In the kit
Two red powder-coated six-piston Forged Narrow Superlite 6R calipers, BP-10 pads and 14.00 x 1.10-inch iron SRP drilled-and-slotted rotors with black electro-coat.
Separate aluminum hubs with 5 x 4.50 and 5 x 4.75-inch patterns, ten 1/2-20 studs, bearings, seals, dust caps, spindle washers, left/right mounting brackets, shims and the listed mounting hardware.
Separate aluminum flared-bell rotor hats and their attachment hardware are included.
Flex lines are separate. Retain the appropriate OE spindle nuts/nut locks and supply new spindle cotter pins; cotter pins are not included.
Fitment and setup
The manufacturer lists specific GM factory disc/drum and Ridetech Pin-spindle rows, including Camaro, Chevelle, Chevy II/Nova and the listed Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and GMC models. Ford, Mercury and Corvette rows require the specified Ridetech Pin spindle. Keep the exact year, spindle and trim qualifier; a model name alone does not establish fit.
The manual specifies an outward track change of .38 inch per side versus the OE drum mounting face, or .09 inch per side versus the OE disc face. Check wheel offset and fender clearance for the starting brake configuration.
Some spindles need the upper anchor hole drilled/tapped and the lower spindle/steering-arm hole enlarged to .50 inch. Have a qualified machinist follow the manual; 1964–66 Chevy II and Chevelle drum applications explicitly require modifications.
Steering-arm position determines bracket position and side. Check clearance, center the rotor by shimming and orient the distinct left/right calipers with their largest pistons at the rotor exit end.
The published wheel starting point is 18 inches. Use the exact clearance drawing and maintain at least .080 inch between wheel and caliper everywhere.
Match separate hoses to the 1/8-27 NPT caliper inlet, chassis fittings and required length. OE hoses do not adapt. Wilwood lists 220-7056 among its hose options; check fittings, full suspension travel and steering lock before choosing the length.
Have an experienced brake installer read the complete instructions, check hardware engagement and system sizing/bias, then bleed, bed and test the brakes before driving. Do not drive on untested brakes.
